After about 24 hours on the bus and passing through three countries – Germany, Belgium and France, we arrived yesterday morning in London, the United Kingdom. We took a ferry from the port of Calais in France to England.
The sightseeing tour started with a walk to the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Downing Street, St. James’s Park, and Buckingham Palace – the official residence of the King. We were even so lucky to witness the arrival of King Charles III at his palace. After that, we visited Piccadilly Circus, Soho, Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery, the Golden Jubilee Bridge and the gigantic London Eye which is cantilevered observation wheel on the South Bank of the river Thames.
In the evening, we took our pupils to two locations – Mayesbrook Park and Edmonton Green were their host families were waiting for them. The children will be hosted in these families for two nights.
