Alšova Primary School once again participated in Erasmus Days which took place from 9th to 13th October, 2023. This year’s theme which was dubbed “ 6 Days to Make Europe Shine” was aimed at highlighting Europe’s cultural diversity and the many opportunities it offers. Pupils from year five to year nine participated in the Erasmus + activities. The activities were divided into two categories based on the language skills of the pupils. Year five to year seven pupils were introduced to English Across the Curriculum – Geography of several European Countries which included maps, historical figures, towns, food, etc.
On the other hand, year eight and year nine pupils prepared “cultural collage” projects of a few selected European countries. The cultural collages also included important historical figures, traditional clothing, cultural artifacts, language, and typical food, just to mention a few. The pupils were divided into groups and each group chose a specific country to prepare the project for. What followed was a presentation of each group’s cultural collage to others.
