As every year, Alšova Primary School took part in the international event ErasmusDays, which took place from October 13th to 18th. The Erasmus Days are a six-day global celebration of the Erasmus+ programme, highlighting international cooperation, education, and cultural exchange across Europe.
The event involved pupils from Years 4 to 9, who participated in a variety of fun and educational activities designed to promote teamwork, creativity, and knowledge about Europe.
Year 4 pupils took part in a team challenge called “The Spaghetti Tower”, where their task was to build the tallest and most stable tower possible using only spaghetti and marshmallows. In addition, pupils in Year 5 worked with a map of Europe, matching pictures to the correct countries, helping them to learn more about European geography and culture.
Year 6 and 7 pupils let their imaginations run wild by creating their own imaginary countries. Working in small groups, they primarily focused on describing the people and climate of these new lands. Each group came up with creative and often humorous ideas.
Meanwhile, Year 8 and 9 pupils took a more practical and reflective approach. Their task was to explore the advantages and disadvantages of travelling abroad. They worked in small groups to create presentations, exploring different aspects of travelling abroad. Pupils then shared their findings, sparking lively discussions and exchanging ideas.
We enjoyed the whole week and proudly made Europe shine! We’re looking forward to taking part again next year!
