Greetings from Limassol, Cyprus
Thanks to the Erasmus+ mobility project for teachers, I´m sending you some warm summer greetings from the city of Limassol in Cyprus. I´m here on a seven day workshop under the title: Intercultural Education - The Answer to Cultural Diversity in the Clasroom.
The workshop has drawn eight participants/teachers from four European countries namely: Greece, Italy, Spain and of course me from the Czech Republic. So far, we have discussed topics such as: Multicultural and intercultural education, ICT tools for intercultural dialogues, activities that encourage communication, inclusive education, how to deal with classroom diversity and many more.
Apart from that, we have also had an opportunity to visit Limassol Old city centre, Carob Mill Museum and other monuments. We´re yet to visit Nicosia, the only divided capital in Europe. On a sad note, the country experienced a deadly forest fire that claimed the lives of four labourers, destroyed about 50 homes and damaged farms and powerlines.
